Located in the heart of Lake Minnetonka on Gideon's Bay, Shorewood Yacht Club is your home port to enjoying the lake. We are just 20 miles from downtown Minneapolis in historic Excelsior.
With it's 22 square miles of water, Lake Minnetonka is the 10th largest lake in Minnesota with over 125 miles of shoreline. It's large size, interesting shorelines and bays have made it a popular sailing venue since the late 1800's. On the lake you can boat to several restaurants, the 58 acre park on Big Island or the municipal docks to shop in historic downtown Excelsior or Wayzata.
